London International Choral Festival
About
The London International Choral Festival presents superb opportunities for young singers from overseas to come to London with their choirs and perform in some magnificent venues under the guidance and tutelage of some of Britain’s most celebrated vocal teachers and conductors.
During the Festival each choir performs a concert of their repertoire at a venue specifically chosen to reflect the size, singing style and repertoire of each group.
The focal point of the week long New Year’s Festival is the Grande Finale Gala Concert where all of the Festival’s Choirs come together with the LICF Choir Director, James Henshaw, to perform a specially chosen repertoire in the magnificent St. John’s Smith Square, accompanied by Britain’s finest youth orchestra, the Young Musicians Symphony Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of James Blair MBE.
This truly glittering occasion is attended by all of the Mayors and civic dignitaries of London. Youth Music of the World has a brilliant and exclusive performance tour programme to enable participation in this event.
"The London International Choral Festival is one of St. Paul’s Episcopal School’s Music Department’s fondest memories. The Gala Concert with full orchestra and our individual performance venues were truly awesome. The Itineraries, tours, accommodations and hospitality were amazing. In my thirty years of teaching and performing choral music at the high school level, this would be one of, if not the high point of our accomplishments."
Jody Powell, Music Director , St Paul's Episcopal School, Alabama
"This experience will never be forgotten by our students and parents. I can assure you that for many, it was the proudest day of our lives. I am indebted to your organisation for the highest quality of management and personal concern I have ever experience on a trip"
Vince D' Agostino, Principal, Atlee High School, Mechanicsville, Virginia
"As a choir performing in the choral festival, taking part in the parade initially seemed like just something extra to do. But it ended up being one of the best parts of our trip. We carried the Guardsman balloon. It was so exciting, walking through the crowds of people, smiling, waving, cheering, even dancing up the streets. We felt like celebrities! To any choir going on this trip, we STRONGLY recommend participating in the parade!"
Eileen Walentin, Choral Director at Somerset College Preparatory Academy
